The majority of the book is short, one and two page meditations on different aspects of "mindfulness" which owes a great deal to Buddhism and Zen. These are clear, concise and well written, good for browsing - I could see keeping this one around for occasional odd-moment reminders of being in the moment. There are a couple chapters at the end where the author attempts some longer form exposition which is not as successful, but it doesn't detract from the first section.
