The Portland Zoo has an (extra cost!) walk-through exhibit of animatronic dinosaurs. We tried it last summer and the kids got scared and we had to bail out early (no refunds, sorry!). This year they had a lot of fun, especially with the ones that "spit" (water, I'm assuming).

My kids would LOVE this! Okay, more accurately, ONE of my kids would love this and the other would be horrified but oddly unwilling to forgo the frightening experience because she thinks she must do everything her sister does.
You should have seen us at the freakishly scary Halloween costume store last weekend. One kid enthusiastically screaming down the aisle laughing and grabbing at the severed arms and grotesque masks and the other quivering in fear and attempting to wrap every extremity around her Daddy's leg.
